Current Position

Alan F. Nagorzanski is a Vice President in the Dallas office of Veritas Advisory Group, Inc. and a founding member of the firm.

Professional Experience

Mr. Nagorzanski has over twenty-five years of consulting experience in matters involving financial, accounting, economic, construction, scheduling, and statistical issues.

Mr. Nagorzanski has consulted with counsel and clients on matters such as securities fraud, investigative accounting, accounting malpractice, business valuation, lender liability, business interruption, lost profits, bankruptcy, intellectual property, breach of contract, construction claims, surety bond claims, and fraud investigations. He has substantial experience in developing, analyzing, and defending against complex financial, accounting, economic, and statistical models in business litigation matters. He has worked for contractors, owners, lenders, manufacturers, subcontractors, design professionals, and sureties in the calculation of costs-to-complete projects and the assessment of the time required to complete troubled projects. He has analyzed and calculated the impact of delay, disruption, and acceleration events. Mr. Nagorzanski has performed investigations of contractors to determine financial status, profitability, ability to perform, effectiveness of controls, and use of contract funds.

Mr. Nagorzanski has significant experience in assisting in the preparation and defending against contractor claims in the construction of large, sole purpose projects such as airport terminals, light rail projects, central libraries, power plant modifications, convention centers, performance halls, stadiums, high-rise office buildings, and sports arenas.

Mr. Nagorzanski has prepared and defended lost profits claims utilizing market considerations, statistical results, historical parameters, and future projections. In security fraud matters, Mr. Nagorzanski has performed event studies, analyzed the impact of market, industry, and firm-related information on stock price movements, and developed statistical models to predict stock price movements. He has utilized numerous techniques to value business, securities, intellectual property, and various damage claim components.

Mr. Nagorzanski has provided expert testimony in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration. He has provided training and served as a conference instructor related to various aspects of construction scheduling, analyzing construction claims, investigative and financial accounting, valuation, and other damage issues.

Prior to founding Veritas, Mr. Nagorzanski held consulting positions with Navigant Consulting, Inc., The Barrington Consulting Group, Peterson & Co., and Sargent & Lundy Engineers.

Educational Background

Mr. Nagorzanski received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his Master of Business Administration with a specialization in finance from the University of Chicago. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas, a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and a Certified Management Accountant.
